Budget Safari – 2 Days

Santawani Concession Mobile Safari

Wish to spend a night in the bush listening to the sounds of the African night, but have a smaller budget? Then this trip is perfect for you.

Located just outside the famous Moremi Game Reserve, the Santawani concession offers similar game viewing experiences, just a bit closer to home.

Day 1.  (Lunch, Dinner)

The vehicle will collect you in the morning for a 1 hour drive from Maun to Kaziikini Campsite. Kaziikini camp, is an eco-friendly community campsite, located half way between Maun and the Moremi Game Reserve in the NG33/34 Concession.

You will arrive at Kaziikini Campsite in time for a short mid morning tea / coffee break while we find our allotted campsite. Set up your tent and bedrolls in preparation for the night!

Enjoy a game drive with an escort community guide exploring the 93,000 hectare concession area. Explore the south western part of the concession where the Gomoti river runs. Regular sightings of elephant, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, lion and leopard as well as permanent and immigrant bird species. Return to camp for lunch of quiche and salads. Afternoon siesta and chance to shower before late afternoon tea and an evening game drive.

Return to camp just after sunset. Relax around the campfire listening to the sounds of the night. Dinner should be ready by about 8pm and is served under the stars, listening to the wildlife.

 Day 2 (Breakfast, Lunch)

Early morning wake up and breakfast. Breakfast consists of tea, coffee, juice, muesli, yogurt, fruit, toasts and preserves. Pack up your bags ready for loading.

Enjoy a full morning game drive exploring this concession that borders with the Moremi. It offers spectacular game viewing and bird watching, including all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region, and over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered.

Return to camp for lunch before departing back to Maun.  Arrive back to Maun by 3pm.

A Delta Mobile Safari – 3 Nights

Moremi Game Reserve or Khwai Concession

Our three night safari allows you to explore the magnificent Moremi Game Reserve or the Khwai Concession. Moremi Game Reserve is famous for its incredible variety of bird and animal life among its beautiful scenery, dotted with flood plains, islands and sand tongues.

The Khwai concession, sadwiched between the Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park, has become just as famous with its abundant sightings of leopard and wild dog.

Delta Mobile Safari – 3 Night Khwai Concession

Day 1 (Lunch, Dinner)

The vehicle will collect you in the morning for a 4 hour drive from Maun to Khwai. You will pass through the villages of Sankuyo and Mababe (130km) and stop en-route for mid morning coffee and rusks. Arrive into camp at lunchtime.

Once everyone is settled and the camp is up, lunch will be served. A bucket is hoisted up into the trees and filled with warm water that has been heated over the fire, and the afternoon provides the opportunity to take your first bush shower.

After tea, at approximately 3pm depart on an afternoon game drive. The Khwai area offers spectacular game viewing and bird watching, including all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region, and over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered.

Return to camp just before sunset wjere you can relax around the campfire listening to the sounds of the night. Dinner should be ready by about 8pm and it is served under the stars, listening to the wildlife.

Day 2 & 3  – ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Early morning wake up and breakfast. Breakfast consists of tea, coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast and preserves. On this day you would do a morning and afternoon game drive with lunch and siesta in camp.

Day 4 – Departure back to Maun ( Breakfast)

A light breakfast will be served before an early morning game drive. Depart from camp at 6am, taking in the early morning sunrise and seeking any further game opportunity before returning back to camp to collect the safari team who have packed up camp. Return drive back to Maun by midday.

Delta Safari – 3 Night Moremi Game Reserve

Day 1 – (Lunch, Dinner)

The vehicle will collect you  in the morning for a 3 – 4 hour drive from Maun to the Moremi Game Reserve, South Gate (100km).

Arrive in camp at lunchtime and once everyone is settled and the camp is up, you depart on an afternoon game drive returning to camp just after sunset.  Relax around the campfire listening to the sounds of the night. Dinner should be ready by about 8pm and it is served under the stars, listening to the wildlife.

Day 2 & 3  (Breakfast, Lunch , Dinner)

Early morning wake up and breakfast. Breakfast consists of tea, coffee, juice, muesli, yogurt, fruit, toast and preserves.

Spend the morning exploring the areas of the western Moremi Game Reserve. Discuss with your guide if you perhaps want to take a picnic lunch to send the whole day out otherwise return to camp for lunch. Have an afternoon siesta before being served some tea and embarking on your evening game drive.

Day 4 (Breakfast)

A light breakfast will be served before an early morning game drive. Depart from camp at 6am, taking in the early morning sunrise and seeking any further game opportunity before returning back to camp to collect the safari team who have packed up camp. Return drive back to Maun by midday.

The Desert to Delta Mobile Safari – 6 Days

Months Available: April, May & June

This is the ultimate package of both desert and delta on a budget. The Kalahari Desert will be in bloom after the rains with lush grasses and waterholes for the desert species.

A great time of year for the zebra migration and the big cat interaction that goes with it. Spend 3 nights in the Kalahari and then back to Maun for an overnight at Raintree Camp.Head of in the morning for a relaxing experience with your guides on a traditional mokoro excursion, silently poling the waterways of the Okavango Delta.

Day 1: Central Kalahari Game Reserve (Lunch, Dinner)

The safari team will collect you from your place of accomdation. The first part of this journey will be open tar road so be prepared for the windy start on an open game drive. The drive will take approximately 5-6 hours depending on what you see once you enter the reserve!

Arrive into camp late afternoon. Camp will be set up on arrival as all equipment travels with you in a trailer. Set out for a short, late afternoon, game drive and have sundowners immersed in the Kalahari

Day 2 – 3: Central Kalahari Game Reserve (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

The next two full days will be spent with early morning wake-ups and breakfast. Breakfast consists of tea, coffee, juice, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, toast and preserves. Embark on your morning game drive discovering and exploring this desert habitat. Return to camp for lunch and afternoon siesta. This is a perfect time to take a shower in the warm afternoon sun. After tea depart for your afternoon game drive and sundowners. Back to camp for a 2-course dinner under the stars, listening to stories and the African sounds around the campfire.

Day 4: Travel back to Maun, Raintree Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Safari team will pack up camp during breakfast and  return journey back to Maun with a picnic lunch en – route. Arrive at Raintree Camp late afternoon.  Take a refreshing dip in the pool!

Day 5 : Mokoro trip into the lower eastern delta (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

This day will be spent exploring the lower eastern part of the delta by traditional dugout canoe, gliding through the water ways. Depart camp at 8am for a one hour transfer to the mokoro station. From here yout community guide will take you further into the delta where you will stop on an island for a bush walk and lunch, before returning back to the mokoro station by 4pm where we will collect you.

Day 6: Safari ends (Breakfast)

A leisurely morning after all the early morning wake ups. Breakfast in your own time before checking out by 10am.

Fully Catered Mokoro Safari

Mokoro trips are based on the traditional Bayei method of traveling through the flood plains of the Okavango Delta. Our trips are located around the Eastern delta in a community controlled wilderness area. This area is managed by “Okavango Kopano Mokoro Community Trust” who set the guide and community fees for activities.

All equipment, food and chef are sent with you so you can spend more of your time exploring the bush, sitting around the campfire and getting to know your guide and this unique environment.

You can decide from a two or three day experience!

Day 1 – (Lunch, Dinner)

A vehicle will collect you in the morning for a one hour road transfer to the Mokoro station. Here you will meet your mokoro guides/polers and load all luggage and equipment in the mekoro. Spend 3 hours on a mokoro gliding to your campsite.
Once at your riverside campsite, enjoy lunch followed by an hour or two relaxation . Your guide will then take you for a 2 -3 hour late afternoon game walk.
Arrive back to camp, and enjoy your campfire dinner.  Spend the evening around the campfire enjoying the interaction with your guides and listening to their stories.

Day 2 – ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Wake up early for coffee/tea, cereal and rusks. Depart on a 4 hour early morning game walk returning around 10am for a hearty brunch. Relax in camp or ask your guides to take you for a swim and the opportunity to freshen up and wash. Mid-afternoon go for a 3 hour mokoro trip arriving back in camp before sunset. Enjoy dinner around the campfire.

Day 3 –  (Breakfast)

Wake up early for coffee/tea, cereal and rusks. Return trip back to the mokoro station for pickup at 10am. Return back to Maun at midday.

Excluded: IOAPN, wine is provided with dinner but no other alcoholic beverages.

On a 2 day trip a bush toilet and wash stand are provided – no Shower.

Equipment is in 2.5m x 2.5m dome tents with bed rolls equipped with all linen and towels placed on the floor. Camp chef will be on hand to set up tents and to cook for you.
